One month after its launch, Steam Deck, the portable console that allows you to play PC titles, has revealed its closest and even future plans. Valve has released an update explaining that it started shipping the new platform just a month ago, which “it has been a great emotion to see it in the hands of the players“, they begin to narrate. “One of our favorite things about it is finally hearing from players about their experience with the Steam Deck. This first month has given us the opportunity to start collecting feedback as we we continue our work to improve Deck in the months and years to come“.
Steam Deck, which currently has over 2,000 verified gamesnow has priority “support as many Steam titles as possible, and this includes titles that employ anti-cheat technology. Thanks to the collaborative efforts of Proton developers, service providers, and partners, we have made great progress in bringing these games to the Steam Deck community.“, Valve has advanced in the notice.
“The two major anti-cheat services, BattlEye and Easy Anti-Cheat, now have a simplified path for developers who choose to enable support for Proton and Steam Deck. Elden Ring and Apex Legends are two examples of games that are taking advantage of this.“.
Valve, which has already confirmed that there will be a Steam Deck 2 in the future, has a lot of work ahead of it to continue improving the handheld console, which is not as widely available in stores as it is currently happening with the rest of the consoles. However, it is still early to know if the platform will be able to establish a large player base to be more considered by developers. Do you think it will?
