Val’quirico It is not only one of the most beautiful places in Mexico and one of the most important tourist attractions in Tlaxcala. It will now also have the distinction of being the first “Kingdom of Mexico”an initiative that aims to recognize those communities with their own personality.
This Monday, May 29, the Secretary of Tourism of the Federal Government, Miguel Torruco Marquesgave the distinction to the Tlaxcalan residential and tourist complex, which is distinguished for being a community with a strong influence of Italian Tuscany.
The name “Kingdoms of Mexico” will be awarded to spaces inspired by other regions of the world, as reported by the Ministry of Tourism (Sectur) in a statement.
Val’quirico is the first “Kingdom of Mexico”
With the distinction of Val’quirico, the distinctive “Kingdoms of Mexico” will be added to the Magical Towns initiative. The tourist town of Tlaxcala was the first to be recognized, but it was followed by Sassi of the Valley which will be built in Valle Guadalupe in Baja California starting August 8.
During the ceremony were present Marina del Pilar Avila Olmedo, governor of Baja California, Lorena Cuellar Cisneros, governor of Tlaxcala, Zhang Run, ambassador of China in Mexico and Luigi de Chiara, ambassador of Italy in Mexico; in addition to the co-founders and members of the Council of Val’Quirico.
For his part, Miguel Torruco Marqués highlighted that Tlaxcala is a very attractive destination for national and international visitors due to its immense tourist offer and the support of the business leadership.
According to data from Sectur, Val’quirico leaves an economic benefit of 80 million pesos per month.
