Village Capital, with the support of Moody's Foundation, launches Greentech 2024: The Future of Sustainability, an initiative in emerging markets that will carry out parallel acceleration programs, in different regions, for startups that create sustainable innovations.
The Latin America program aims to address and overcome key challenges faced by entrepreneurs due to regional disparities and will focus on startups with diversity in their leadership, supporting underserved communities in the countries of Argentina, Bolivia, Costa Rica, Mexico, Panama, Peru and Uruguay.
According to the latest global report on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 2023), only two of the 36 goals for 2030 are being met. Climate action and biodiversity are not only lagging behind, they are going backwards due to the slow implementation of solutions. Achieving transformative change requires decisive actions by the population, businesses, academia and science, not just governments and international actors.
