Just over a month to go until the premiere of the uncharted movie in theaters and has just released its first official poster, in which we can see his cast made up of Tom holland, Mark Wahlberg, Antonio Banderas, Sophia Ali and Tati Gabrielle. However, some fans are not happy with its design, believing it to be too generic and mimics the Spider-Man: Far From Home poster; they would like the next one to pay homage to video games.
The Uncharted movie is based on the games of Naughty dog and its manager is Ruben fleischer, who admitted that he does not seek to recreate what we saw in video games. In the director’s words, “because players have such a visceral experience, I don’t think you can compete with that. I wanted to make sure that [Uncharted] will work first as a movie”. Still, some fans expected the ad campaign to have nods to video games, so the first official poster disappointed them.

“They actually said “let’s make the most generic adventure movie poster ever””, said one user on Twitter, while another said “Same but different” while sharing the poster for Spider-Man: Far From Home, where we see the cast in a similar arrangement. But nevertheless, this style is very common among the great blockbusters, as other users demonstrated by sharing those of Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Dune.
“If more posters come out I hope they look more like the box art from the games, you know, just with Nathan Drake in action, what is this thing that looks like it’s from the MCU?”, was what another fan of video games from Naughty dog. We will surely see more posters of the Uncharted movie as we get closer to its premiere; it is common to see posters dedicated to each main character, so the one with Tom Holland as Nathan Drake has the opportunity to pay homage to the covers of video games.
