Guillemot points out that Ubisoft is capable of remaining independent.
2021 and 2022 are being characterized by the purchase of various studios by large companies, so that we have already been able to see how Xbox, PlayStation and Take Two have expanded their ranks with multi-million dollar purchases. Of course, in the case of the first one it has been seen that not only studies can be bought, but also large companies can also be acquired.
This has been seen with both Activision Blizzard and Bethesda, which have either passed or are in the process of becoming part of Xbox’s internal studios, which in itself has meant a huge outlay which has made one thing clear: no company is safe from being bought.
Ubisoft may be the target of large companies according to rumors
Before this idea it is necessary to say one of the companies that more are indicating to be the next big buy is ubisoftin such a way that it is already being seen that its CEO, Yves Guillemot, is moving to obtain financing that allows you to maintain control of the company in the event that an offer arrives at the board of investors.
And it is perhaps because of this movement, which implies that there has been something to be carried out, that Guillemot has spoken out by pointing out that Ubisoft has what it takes to stay independently, this being something that he already commented on in February of this year. In fact, he highlights the great value of his IPs to show his might.
For all these reasons, it seems obvious that there is still much to say about what could happen to Ubisoft, since Guillemot also points out that they will study any offer that comes to them as they do with everything they receive. However, it may be that, as has happened with Activision Blizzard, the company’s internal problems lead to them ending up giving in.
Having said all this, it only remains to be seen what ends up happening with Ubisoft’s titles for this year, since everything points to in summer there will be a conference of the gala company which would be equivalent to the one they used to celebrate for E3.
