Twitter is working on a new feature that will allow users to move away from the threads in which they are swept up by other Internet users.
On the one hand, it is true that, for a few years, Twitter has become a kind of battlefield where, it seems, not all opinions can fit. Valid or not, this has made users opt for other platforms, less aggressive ones, so to speak.
However, over the years, the social network, little by little, has been “cleaning house” with new functions that aim, among other things, to reinforce the security of its users.
Now, Twitter is considering the possibility of giving users the chance to delete themselves from the threads in which, without their consent, they are swept away by other netizens.
The information was shared by a researcher named Jane Manchun Wong, who, according to what has been reported in some media, released screenshots of this new twitter feature on her social networks.
In the image we can see that Twitter has placed the option to “Leave this conversation”, a new function that would prevent the user from being enraptured again and block all notifications.

There is no doubt that social networks have come to transform everything related to the way we communicate with each other -users- and the outside world.
Currently, and for a few years now, we have known that, more than spaces to create new bonds of friendship, platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat, among others, are of great importance in the way we relate to each other. the world today.
Digitization has opened the door, first, for Internet users not to detach themselves from their social networks, and second, to a new era in which we can do practically anything from our mobile device when we enter one of our social networks.
One fact that we must not forget is that the influence of social networks in our daily digital life has been increasing in recent years. In fact, according to the report Statista Digital Economy Compassthe average time spent daily by Internet users on social networks worldwide is 142 minutes in 2021, well above the 90 minutes recorded in 2012.
Facebook is, until now, the social network that has the most users in its “wallet”, although, for some specialists, that reign would be very close to collapsing if TikTok continues to rise.
On the other hand, Twitter, which has become that complaints window for Internet users, although it maintains its user base, has gradually changed over time. Currently, the social network has a total of 1.3 billion accounts, of which only 330 million are active users. Countries like the United States and Japan are the ones with the largest number of users attached to this social network, with 77 million and 58 million users respectively.
