While Twitter continues to drop in revenue and popularity, its platform continues to be updated, now, with a video call function, although it seems a bit late, since, today, practically all social networks already have it.
In a market as changing and competitive as that of social networks, one of the strategies of any platform is innovation and even reinvention. In this sense, to this day, video platforms are the ones that dominate the spectrum, which is why, for some social networks, it is vital to have all kinds of multimedia platforms.
TikTok, to mention one example, is the social network that has positioned itself the most as a result of the pandemic, offering a highly attractive window for its audience of 1.7 billion users. Furthermore, according to survey data, It is the favorite platform for young people between the ages of 13 and 17.
And it is that, in recent years, digitization has opened up an extremely interesting panorama due to the global confinement that was experienced after the arrival of Covid-19, where spaces such as Zoom, Google Meet and even Microsoft Teams, gained great relevance among internauts.
Taking the latter into account, Zoom was positioned as the most used for video conferences, video calls, etc. managing to invoice 1,071 million dollars between November 2021 and January 2022 —a period that for the company corresponds to the fourth quarter of its fiscal year 2022— thus beating its own record for the previous quarter, which was 1,051 million dollars, this according to data from the company itself.
Twitter, in crisis, now tests video calling function
Although it is nothing new, the truth is that, in the last three years, video calls have become one of those habits acquired to face a crisis that, at first, seemed to have no end.

Now, following the line of video calls, Twitter has a new function ready that, for now, it has begun to test with some users. This means that, soon, the “tweeters” will have the possibility of making video calls with their contacts through the chats.

At the moment, as already mentioned, this function is being tested with some users; However, everything suggests that it will soon be able to expand to the Twitter community through an update.
For sure, it is not known if this is a late tool, because, to this day, a large number of social networks already have the video call modality.
