If we are in the middle of a Fortnite game and the cursor seems to be slow or there is a delay between the movement of the hand and what is seen on the screen, these tricks will help you improve mouse performance.
Check the latency
As the website explains hard zone In a report, latency, measured in milliseconds, is the delay between performing an action with the mouse and it being reflected on the screen.
To verify that it is at minimum levels, check the port the mouse is plugged into. It is important that it is at least in a USB 3.0 or the fastest that your computer has.
Update firmware and drivers
If you have a mouse from a recognized brand, you must keep both the firmware and the driver updated. To do this, you can do it from the program of the brand itself, but also directly from Windows.
Just right click on the Start button and choose “Device Manager”. A window will open in which you must then select “Mouse and other devices”, in which you will find the model of your mouse.
When identifying the mouse, right click it and select “Update driver”. Another window will open with the assistance of the update. The other option is to choose “Search for drivers automatically” to have Windows do it, the recommended option.
Disable “Scroll inactive windows on mouse over”
If you play in borderless windowed mode, disable the option “Scroll inactive windows on mouseover” is the best trick to improve the experience.
To disable it, left-click on Start and select Settings. Then, go to Devices and on the left side look for Mouse, where the option is disabled. In Windows 11, within Settings this option is found in “Bluetooth and devices” and then Mouse.
