Regarding the second fraction, the 2020 or 2021 budget was not clarified, while by August 2022 about 1,731,571,388 pesos had been allocated.

As said by the Secretary of Administration and Finance, Luz Elena González Escobarthe budget allocated to the STC increased by 857 million during 2023, while the budget growth for 2022 was 25.5 percent, climbing from 15 thousand 684 million pesos to 19 thousand 687 million pesos.
“Sufficient resources have been allocated for its operation, maintenance and renovation,” said the head of the agency, “the budget has not only not been reduced but has been increased,” she added.
The secretary also pointed out that currently “a historic investment is being made to modernize the energy infrastructure, through the Metro-Energy project, which has a budget of 4.5 billion pesos, with the construction of the Buen Tono High Voltage Electrical Substation, the purchase of new transformers, 17 rectifying substations, among other actions”.
Finally, he commented that there is a renovation project for Line 1 of the Mexico City Metro, which also responds to a significant investment by the public sector in the amount of 37 thousand 374 million pesos. In addition to this, he recalled that during this project, the purchase of 29 new trains was ensured, in addition to the total change of tracks of the Line and the renewal of the automatic piloting of the CBTC. He also highlighted the Control Center from Line 1 to Line 6, which includes an investment of 500 million pesos in energy and traction control.
