Voice notes are increasingly present in our way of communicating. Of course, there are users for everything: from those who can’t stand receiving, much less sending audio, to those who consider it disrespectful to listen to them at increased speed. And going through those who can’t press the microphone icon without ending up bookmarking a podcast… There are also jokers, who use external apps to modify their voice and make it sound like that of a robot, a squirrel or an alien, among others wacky options. What’s more, we know a page with which it is possible to do the same with the voice of actors, singers and cartoon characters.
It’s called Fake You and it offers a long list of options to transcribe a written message to a well-known voice in the entertainment world. We have characters from Disney and other cartoons like The Simpson, even superheroes from the Marvel and DC world or musicians like Eminem or Frank Sinatra. The list is long (there are even youtubers like Jordi Wild) but, yes, many voices are only available in English or Latin Spanish.
It is a free service to imitate voices through the use of artificial intelligence with which the result is very successful. Although other platforms of the style work by modifying our own voice, on this occasion, we must enter the message in text, which will then be generated in audio format and we can send by WhatsApp and other communication applications.
How to use Fake You
It is a very easy-to-use website and, if we do it from our mobile, it will be even easier for us to share the audio on WhatsApp. What’s more, no need to download anything or register.
The first thing is to choose a category in the “category/language” box. So, if we are not going to send a message in English, we have to select “Español / Spanish”.
Now we just have to choose one of the voices and write in the box enabled for this the text of what we want to pass to voice. Once written, press “Speak”.
The audio can take a few seconds to several minutes to be generated depending on the text and the number of users on the page. By pressing the play icon we can listen to it and, if we like it, we can download it or obtain a link by clicking on “Permalink & download”.
The last step is to click on the “download file” button and, finally, in the playback box that will open on the screen, click on the three vertical dots and select “download” again.
