Giving a baby medicine can be a real nightmare. However, there are tricks to make you accept them better. Take note!
First of all, be patient. When a baby is sick, uncomfortable and irritable, and it must be understood, he is still young. Therefore, it is recommended that you look for a quiet moment (after the bath, after a nap?) To give him the medicine with affection and tenderness.
If it moves, we hold it gently, never forcing it. You can also entertain him with a toy. In fact, it usually works to leave your favorite bear or ask dad to do something cute. And now, yes, it’s time to give him the medicine. For this, it is interesting that you take into account these tricks:
If it’s syrup
1. With syringe or dropper. Take the child as if you were going to give him a bottle, tilt his head towards your chest and put the tip of the syringe to the side of his mouth. Rock it.
2. With a spoon. You have to hold the child’s hands so that he does not slap. Then, slightly lower your chin and insert the spoon over the lower lip. Gradually give the syrup.
In the form of drops
– In the eyes. Clean your eyes using different gauze so that the infection does not pass from one to the other. Orient the child’s head upwards and let the drop fall without touching the eyelid or the eyelash with the dispenser.
– In the ears. With the child lying down, pull his ear slightly back and we drop the drops. Try to keep it that way until you are sure that the drops have entered. So that the cold liquid does not startle when entering the ear, you can warm the jar a little with your hands.
– Orally. If you accept it, you can take the drops directly from the spoon. If it spits out its contents, you can use a dropper: when it falls into the throat, you will have to swallow them.
