The notch will be a new hiding place for the cursor thanks to this detail of the macOS design.
It’s been a few days since the MacBook Pro made an appearance, and the truth is that it seems that they have been able to meet expectations. Apple has managed to amaze us all with its new M1 Pro and M1 Max chipsas well as features like the new Liquid Retina XDR display. There are also quite a few users who can’t wait to get their beloved ports back.
On the other hand, there are many doubts that exist regarding these MacBook Pros, especially with regard to the notch. Now the screen It has a notch that houses the laptop’s camera. This, of course, has divided the community, in which there is still no consensus about whether it is an attractive change and whether it really gains space with it. But it’s not just the appearance that matters.
Users also wonder about the behavior of macOS in regards to the notch area. Shortly after the presentation it was detailed that developers could choose how they would deal with it with their full-screen apps. And now, the way macOS will act when we move the cursor close to the notch has been revealed.
One of the big doubts was if when we approached while we interacted with the system, the cursor would collide with this notch. However, as confirmed in Twitter Linda Dong, one of Apple’s employees, this will go under. Thus, we can use it to hide the cursor whenever we need it out of our sight, such as when viewing content in full screen.
Little by little, all the questions that arose regarding the new notebooks are dissipating. And in just a few days, when the first units finally reach users, we can see if the MacBook Pro is capable of meeting our expectations.
