And it’s not Goku…
Throughout its history, it has had heroes who become villains or villains who become the best friends of Goku and company, however, one of them could be the true hero of the story. One of the biggest villains in Dragon Ball Heroes, Hearts, actually he is completely justified in his desire to kill the gods of this universe, particularly Zeno. Before continuing, we recommend that you read the last chapters of this work that can be found available on the online service MangaPlus by ShueishaWell, we’ll cover some major spoilers..
Hearts first debuted in chapter 6 of Super Dragon Ball Heroes: Universe Mission, titled “Universal Conflict”. At the time, he was introduced as the leader of a group of fighters known as the “Core Area Warriors”. The Core Area Warriors were a task force created specifically with the goal of killing the god of the universe from him and taking down the heavenly bureaucracy. Hearts himself planned to use something known as the Universe Seed to kill Zeno.. When cultivated, the universe seed can blossom into a whole new universe or be consumed to grant the devourer unfathomable power.
Despite his plan almost succeeding, Hearts was eventually stopped even after managing to consume the Universe Seed by none other than the combined powers of Goku and Vegeta: Gogeta. Although Hearts can seem cold and even ruthless at times, he ultimately he was absolutely right to want to dethrone Zeno. Zeno’s power in Dragon Ball is too destructive to be left alone and the consequences of leaving him alive could be disastrous in the near future.
Even just in the Tournament of Power, readers saw how powerful his abilities were., being able to completely erase entire universes in the blink of an eye. Beyond that, Zeno’s full power has never been seen and the full range of his abilities could be far worse than he initially imagined. As he is, he is too unpredictable a variable to be left in control of countless lifetimes. Hearts’ goal is actually quite justifiable when looking at the threat that Zeno really is.
Hearts from Super Dragon Ball Heroes could be the true hero of the franchise
Hearts from Dragon Ball Heroes may have been cold and calculating with the steps he took to accomplish his plan to kill Zeno, but in the end their goals were completely justifiable. Hearts even admits several times that he loves mortals and admires how much they continue to grow, proving that he truly is the franchise’s greatest unsung hero. All of the Dragon Ball Heroes manga have sought to expand on the multiversal macrocosm that is now at home within the series. One warrior in particular, Hearts, god who kills gods, has made it his ultimate mission to free all the universes of the infamous celestial bureaucracy that has been established in this world. Despite his dubious methods, his ultimate goal of killing Zeno actually makes him Dragon Ball’s greatest unsung hero.
The Dragon Ball multiverse consists of twelve distinct universes, each containing its own macrocosm of the living world, Hell, and the Otherworld, as well as other universe-sized entities such as the Planet of the Kais. Overseeing each of these domains is the celestial bureaucracy, which consists of the Kais, the Supreme Kais, the Supreme Kais, and the Gods of Destruction. Beyond that, the Gods of Destruction are ruled by the Omni-King and his court of Angels. With a single thought, the god of this entire great macrocosm, the Omni-King Zeno, is able to end existence completely. Not to mention that he’s clearly used this power before, destroying four of the original universes on a whim..
Hearts is a character who seeks nothing more than to kill Zeno and end his reign of terror over the remaining universes. Contrary to what we have known in Dragon Ball Super, it could be a good answer to impending problems.
