Dragonflight’s release date is slated for before the end of 2022, but some fans are skeptical of Blizzard’s promise.
Dragonflight seems to be the expansion that Blizzard needed to give World of Warcraft a fresh air, after the conflict between Sylvanas Windrunner and Tyrande Whisperwind sharply divided not only its fandom, but also the criticism regarding the game and the few changes it had had. for so many years. Especially since the resolution of this conflict did not seem to be to the liking of the fans of the Dark Lady.
And after another series of missteps by the company, perhaps it was a good time for Dragonflight to change the standards of its players, which had been lowering considerably.
For many months, uncertainty was haunting World of Warcraft fans, until the official announcement of the expansion reached its public (no release date), accompanied by various features that would be included in it and, of course, They sounded very impressive. This motivated multiplayer fans to continue in a wait that would surely be worth it.
Dragonflight gets its name because it will be set in the legendary Dragon Islands. Of course, this place has been known in the past as the place where dragons come from, although it has only been indirectly introduced in The Art of World of Warfcraft book. This implies that nobody is totally sure of what they are going to find when they set foot on their land.
Another interesting piece of information about the Dragon Isles is that they are located in Northern Lordaeron. However, it is possible that they also correspond to those that appear in the Warcraft III manual, almost on the edge of the Maelstrom). And, being such a mysterious place, it is not surprising that there are many speculations pointing to various contents.
But what is a fact is that there will be five draconic zones with a large number of dungeons to explore at will. And, not only this, but in these same scenarios there will be a special race fusion known as the Evoker of Dracthyr. These humanoids are the result of a mixture with the dragons, because they acquired a winged aspect that will give them some interesting abilities in combat.
the release date
Blizzard hasn’t really shared much information about Dragonflight; hopefully a few more details, but World of Warcraft recently announced the release date which, to the surprise of many, is much sooner than estimated: before the end of the year.
Meanwhile, pre-orders for World of Warcraft: Dragonflight have just been made available to fans. Namely, the expansion is available in four different editions: Base, Heroic, Epic and Collector. Respectively, the editions offer a higher amount of rewards than its predecessor. But the price has also risen enough since the Shadowlands.
Interestingly, in the product requirements portion of the pre-purchase page on Battle.net, players have discovered something very unusual. The page indicates that Dragonflight will be available before December 31 of this year. If true, we are talking about a very short time between the announcement of the expansion and the launch.
Do not forget that previously Blizzard had confirmed significant progress in relation to Dragonflight. So it’s likely they’ve been working on this project for years, considering they were able to prioritize it since Shadowlands has only had two major raid level patches.
After the speculation about the launch shown in the pre-order, the concern that the expansion will not reach the devices of the players is more than visible. Although, of course, they could also wait a while if it comes to receiving a much more elaborate and complex title. Especially since many of the fans consider that Dragonflight could be the most important expansion for World of Warcraft.
Lastly, Blizzard hasn’t done the usual public alpha or beta testing for Dragonflight, which doesn’t make many doubt that it will actually launch before December 31st. But the truth is that, since the company announced the expansion, the public has done nothing but keep their eyes on any news that confirms the launch. We will have to wait to find out if World of Warcraft is really going to fulfill its promise before the end of 2022.
