“We will collaborate shoulder to shoulder with the City Government to offer our certifications to all the interested population that successfully completes the courses. We are convinced that public-private collaboration is essential to accelerate the social and technological development of our country, and initiatives such as the one presented today fill us with pride and joy”, he explained.
The certification will be as a data analyst and together with the programming course that will last three months, they will be free.
“In the part of the certification that is granting Google Mexico, it has an approximate cost of 200, 250 dollars, depending. There are promotions that they have, it may be a little cheaper, but in this case (with the graduates of the Code Schools of Mexico City) it will be totally free”, explained the director of Technological Operation of the Digital Agency for Public Innovation of Mexico City (ADIP), Jorge Luis Pérez Hernández.
What are Code Schools?
The General Directorate of Computing and Information and Communication Technologies (DGTIC) of UNAM, as well as the Secretaries of Economic Development (SEDECO) and of Labor and Employment Promotion (STYFE) participated in the development of Code Schools.
Enrollment in the Code Schools at 140 PILARES locations is open to anyone with a desire to learn. Currently, there are 700 people registered and it is planned to train 10,000 people a year. While Google Mexico will donate the Data Analyst certification and Amazon will provide support, details will be given later.
