Through Tinder, Ukrainian citizens have managed to find refuge in the midst of the war.
Since the beginning of the invasion, more than 2.5 million people have fled their country, while the UN estimates that figure will reach 16 million.
To date, Tinder has added more than 78 million downloads worldwide.
A recent investigation of New York Times reveals how, through Tinder, citizens fleeing Ukraine have found refuge.
Within the wide range of dating applications, Tinder is the most popular platform for users. Since its launch in 2012, the social network has managed to add more than 78 million downloads, according to data from App Magic.
Weeks ago, Tinder was once again at the center of digital pulse conversations thanks to the release of the Netflix documentary, The Tinder Swindler (The Tinder Scammer), With which simon leiev achieved great popularity, to such an extent that opened an account on Cameo where he charges for sending greetings and/or congratulations.
Today, however, the focus is on Eastern Europe, where the Russian invasion of Ukraine continues, which has resulted in multiple sanctions for the country led by Vladimir Putin.
Since the beginning of the invasion, according to lhe United Nations Organization (UN) there are more than 500 civilians killed as a result of the waras well as more than 900 wounded.
On the other hand, in the last more than two weeks, more than 2.5 million Ukrainians, who leave their country because of the armed conflict that, until now, has ceased. In fact, to this day, the Russia-Ukraine conflict unleashed the worst refugee crisis in Europe since World War II.
Today, some social networks have been used by Ukrainian citizens fleeing their country to find refuge and, in this context, Tinder has become an interesting option for such purposes.
Ukrainians find refuge thanks to Tinder
Information published in New York Times appointment two testimonies of Ukrainian citizens who managed to leave their country and find refuge in Romania.
Their names are Anastasia Tischchenko and Natalia Masechkoboth friends who, through Tinder, shared the situation they were living in their home, the city of Ivano-Frankivsk, which has approximately 230,000 inhabitants and is located in western Ukraine, south of Lviv.

Later, he revealed how, through said social network, several users swiped to the right in order to offer help. One of those who made “match” with Anastasia Tischchenko managed to put her in contact with another subject, who found a monastery in Siret, a Romanian city on the southern border of Ukraine.
After his stay in Romania, Tischchenko traveled to Poland, while his companion, Natalia Masechko, decided to stay in Siret in order to help the wave of refugees that arrive in the country constantly.
To date, Poland is the country that has accepted the most refugees since the beginning of the invasion in Ukraine and UN estimates indicate that around 16 million Ukrainians will need help and protection in the coming months.
