Federal Labor Law recognizes the overload of activities as a form of workplace bullying and an indicator of mental problems generated.
Even the NOM35 had to be reformed so that employers and companies in Mexico are governed by specific protocols to avoid physical and emotional injustices.
The ability to multitask has become a valued and required skill in today’s market, raising vacancies for multitask employees in almost all existing professional areas, from marketing, even engineering; however, Although it started as a means of disseminating talent and optimizing processes, many organizations have distorted the purpose, turning this form of contracting into a tool to cut jobs, save money and overload its human elements without contemplating labor and salary justice.
And the problem is not in the “you multitask”but in bad business practices when factors of work overload, low salary and the normalization of a poor distribution of tasks are addressed from the recruitment process, where terms such as “multitask” and “work under pressure” evidence of poor personnel management and lack of skills or investment to meet the demands of the position without violating the rights of workers.
In fact, an AON study reveals that 90 percent of workers in Mexico perceive emotional and psychosocial risks due to the workloads and extended work hours that are regularly offered in the country, something that should set the standard for employers analyze their operations in Human Resources (HR) and industry leaders prepare to avoid sanctions in the inspections carried out by the Ministry of Labor, which any employee can apply anonymously here.
Marketing “multitask” and the reality in Mexico
There are many vacancies for managers and managers in the marketing area and they are growing as this profession establishes itself in the market as one of the most sought after by private companies; however, what are the true general functions to cover with the profile?
A marketing professional, in a managerial position, is basically in charge of establishing and improving the image of a company and its products, always respecting their vision and values when generating strategies that increase sales.
And although this person is in charge of strengthening and maintaining a brand through its promotion in different channels, they almost always have a place of decision and direction with multidisciplinary support from other coordinated areas that make the efforts made possible, whether in advertising campaigns to follow, the definition of the target audience, the design of packaging or logos, the establishments in which the products will be put on sale or the management of the material used for the brand identity.
However, in Mexico the functions of a marketing manager change depending on the organization in which they work. Among the most viewed functions on job search sites such as Indeed, OCCMundial or LinkedIn are:
- To study the product, its competition and market.
- Develop strategies comprehensive, considering the creation of customer value, purchasing behavior and public relations management.
- run campaigns marketing from conception to execution.
- Experiment with different acquisition and payment channels.
- Attract new customers.
- Manage the marketing budget and allocate funds efficiently.
- Monitor and approve advertising material, including banners from websites, billboards, print brochures, advertisements in publications, etc.
- assess and report the performance of marketing campaigns.
- Analyze the clientele and adjust the campaigns based on what is observed.
- Determine price lists, discounts, delivery conditions, special incentives and promotional campaigns.
- Promote electronic commerce through different technological infrastructures.
- direct and supervise Teams assigned for the operational and administration process linked to sales and marketing.
- monitor strategies of marketing in social networks.
- organize and monitor promotional events.
In this sense, with management, supervision and decision-making positions in an entire marketing area, employment analysts determine an average salary of 20 thousand pesos per month and up for these professionals… but the reality in Mexico is different.
For example, in a mapping of employment platforms, you can see multiple offers with the legend “Marketing Manager”, “Marketing Coordinator” or “Marketing & Sales Strategy Manager”, where the average salaries offered are between 12 thousand Y 30 thousand pesos per month
They want to pay less than $10,000 for a multitask marketer
Now, with that current market data, we can point to some critical vacancies that are made public and show how companies fill with “multitasking employees” more than one job for minimum income that does not meet the salary justice that the work requires.
An example was posted by FRM Groupa vacancy indicated on social networks for offering 9 to 10 thousand pesos a month to a “marketing manager” who covers more than diverse functions, some even as a designer, community manager, publicist, copywriter and even administration.
You don’t just want a Marketer, you need a

Thus, as can be seen, only with legal benefits and a low salary is how this job offer has stood out in Veracruz by evidencing a larger problem: in the private sector at least 29 percent of new graduates do not have benefits and 28 percent assure that they do not have the minimum conditions of the Law.
According to the 2022 National Alumni Survey (ENE) of the University of the Valley of Mexico (UVM), dissatisfaction associated with salaries increased, particularly among those with salaries of less than 15,000 pesos.
