- We present you five “low cost” campaigns that have had a great impact on audiences
- In times of pandemic, campaigns like these can be the ideal option to create a good strategy
- It is not necessary to have a large budget for the campaign to achieve its commercial purpose
Few of the so-called low cost advertising campaigns have had a truly predominant impact around the world. But there are some cases, as in everything, exceptional.
In the world of advertising and marketing, many times they resort to campaigns or strategies that have as a budget millions of pesos, dollars and euros, which, in general, guarantees a great performance of these campaigns.
Throughout the history of advertising, companies resort to large stages, actresses or actors (or influencers in these times) of great renown who, naturally, tend to charge exorbitant amounts of money thanks to their popularity and the link or connection they have with audiences.
Added to that, the day-to-day advancement of technology is also an extra ingredient that costs a lot of money, but which, used well, is capable of immediately clicking and reaching, based on a good strategy , to unimaginable corners.
That is, in the end, the purpose of advertising: to use all available resources to reach thousands or millions of consumers and achieve that the brand or company is positioned at the top of the sales worldwide.
However, as with everything, there is always an exception to the rule, and in the wide universe of advertising and marketing, there are cases of campaigns that, with very less resources, tend to have a great impact with audiences.
You do not need a large budget or a campaign of millions of pesos, or dollars, or euros, to achieve your commercial mission: to reach and position yourself in the audiences.
Today, at Merca 2.0, we present you five great advertising and marketing campaigns that, with a low budget (of course, compared to others that use millions in their strategies), have had a great impact:
01. “Radically Honest” – Pompeii
The Madrid brand Pompeii, in conjunction with the PutosModernos studio, developed this campaign that consisted of posting advertisements in the streets with totally suggestive phrases. This strategy, in addition to not having a large budget, managed to go viral through social networks.

02. “We worked hard on the price, nott on the ad ”- Burger King
Burger King ran an extremely simple campaign, with ads created in Photoshop that, at first glance, you can see that there was not a great creative team behind it. This campaign even contained a press release made under the same concept.
03. “How To Color Gray Hair At Home with Eva Longoria ”- L’Oréal
Eva Longoria stars in this global L’Oréal campaign aimed at all women who, during the pandemic, saw their hair grow gray. For this, two smartphones were used to record themselves from Longoria’s own home. Through Microsoft Teams, the McCann Paris agency sent the instructions to follow.
04. “Twitter Dad ”- Twitter
Twitter used the British actor Robert Kelly with which the social network announced its new function (of course, at the time), which allowed its users to eliminate noise in their conversations.
Actress Belén Esteban stars in this Amazon Prime Video campaign in which, clearly, you can see that there was no big budget behind or a wild and highly creative idea to connect with audiences.
