The Epic Games Store gives away new free games every Thursday, while also revealing to users what free games they can expect for the following week. This Thursday, April 7, is no exception to the rule, since Epic Games Store has made two more free games available to users, while also confirming the free games that will arrive on Thursday, April 14.
First of all, users of the Epic Games Store they have one week to claim two games for their digital libraries. Starting today and running through Thursday, April 14, users will be able to pick up the critically acclaimed role-playing game Rogue Legacy for their collection. The fact that Rogue Legacy is free on the Epic Games Store coincides with the confirmation that Rogue Legacy 2’s release date is April 28, which may not be a coincidence.
The other free game that users can claim today is The Vanishing of Ethan Carter. The Vanishing of Ethan Carter, a first-person mystery game, has received mostly positive reviews, so fans of the genre should check it out.
Free games from the Epic Games Store for April 2022:
- Rogue Legacy (until April 14)
- The Vanishing of Ethan Carter (until April 14)
- Insurmountable (April 14 – April 21)
- XCOM 2 (April 14 – April 21)
For a while there was only one free game a week, but it seems that the Epic Games Store give away two games again. Starting next Thursday, April 14, Epic Games Store users will be able to claim Insurmountable and XCOM 2. Insurmountable is a perma-death roguelike game that involves climbing mountains. It was well received by critics when it was first released in 2021, but has been somewhat under the radar.
XCOM 2, meanwhile, is a critically acclaimed turn-based strategy game in which players fight against hostile alien threats. Developed by Firaxis Games, XCOM 2 is the latest installment in the main series of the long-running strategy game franchise, and while it’s six years old by now, it’s still a decent treat for the Epic Games Store and one of the most outstanding free games that have been given away all year.
Come April 14th, Epic Games Store users will be able to get their hands on Insurmountable and XCOM 2 while learning what to expect from free game deals starting April 21st.
