The Xbox Game Pass subscription service is one of the most convenient when it comes to video games, but unfortunately it does not have a family plan like the one offered by Netflix. Disney+ and Nintendo Switch Online. This is about to change, as Microsoft has approved a Xbox Game Pass Family Plan and is expected to arrive in 2022.
The news comes from Jez Corden at Windows Central, who says she’s heard of plans to implement an Xbox Game Pass Family Plan for a while, but the day of confirmed Xbox is actively working on this plan and it is expected to arrive sometime this year.

The Xbox Game Pass Family Plan would allow up to 5 profiles for less than five individual subscriptions, but there’s no word on whether Microsoft will offer separate plans for PC Game Pass, Xbox Game Pass on consoles, and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. Although it is not known what the price will be, Corden says that it will be “cheaper” than individual subscriptions.
According to our information, paying for a higher tier for the Xbox Game Pass Family Plan will give five players access to the full library, and it will be much cheaper to pay for five separate XGP accounts as is necessary today,” Jez Corden of Windows Central.
This confirmation does not come directly from Microsoft but Jez Corden says that the company is preparing to make the official announcement. A couple of days ago Sony announced that it would merge PS+ and PS Now into a single service under the name of PlayStation Plus, but it is unknown if Microsoft’s decision was made in response to the announcement.
