Halo Infinite is set to receive a new update next week that will primarily focus on quality of life improvements and fan-requested features. On August 9, halo-infinite will receive changes to visor cross-compatibility, helmet attachments, and ranked playlists.
Currently, halo-infinite is in the midst of its second season of content, titled Lone Wolves. Halo Infinite Season 2 was initially intended as a shorter season, shorter in length than Heroes of Reach, before being extended in order to spend more development time on features that were missing from the game.
At the time of writing this note, halo-infinite It still lacks a Forge mode and co-op campaign, though co-op is showing some signs of life with recent test sessions. In general, the Halo community has been waiting for various fixes and improvements to the game, along with more content, as the second season has been considered relatively weak in its content delivery.
Next week’s update may show that 343 Industries is willing to keep its promises to fans and is trying to make up lost ground. In a blog post shared on Halo Waypoint, 343 Industries has detailed Infinite’s upcoming Drop Pod update, stating that it has a more meaningful focus for the community and will lay the foundation for community-requested features in the future.
The first significant change is that all current and future visor colors will now work on all helmets and all cores. Prior to this update, players only unlocked specific visors for one of the five armor cores in the game, which was a huge annoyance to the gaming community. halo-infinite.
Additionally, changes to helmet attachments in the Mark VII armor core now allow players to swap attachments between different helmets. Many fans have been requesting this feature for some time; however, 343 Industries had to take multiple art style changes and clipping issues into consideration before finally implementing the feature.
Lastly, 343 Industries will be adding more ranked playlists soon after implementing the changes detailed above. The developers state that Ranked Doubles will be released two weeks after the release of the Drop Pod update and will be accompanied by a Social variant and a Competitive Skill Rank reset.
