Thus, in the midst of this context, the company CFE Telecomunicaciones e Internet para Todos (CFE-TEIT) seeks to compete in the cell phone market with packages ranging from 30 pesos to 2,100 pesos.
With this decision, the state company enters the model of Virtual Mobile Operatorsan industry that, in 2021, generated revenues of 4.2 billion pesos and that currently has 8 million users, according to data from the CIU consultancy.
In more detail, CFE-TEIT offers users prepaid packages from 30 pesos for a period of three days and up to 300 pesos for 30 days; Likewise, plans can be contracted from 400 to 2,100 pesos per month, with automatic renewals on a semi-annual or annual basis. This is how the prices are distributed:
30 pesos – 4 GB, 250 minutes and 125 SMS valid for three days. No hot spot.
45 pesos – 4 GB, 250 minutes and 125 SMS valid for three days. With hotspot.
100 pesos – 20 GB, 1,000 minutes and 500 SMS valid for 15 days. No hot spot.
150 pesos – 8 GB, 1,500 minutes and 500 SMS valid for 30 days. With hotspot.
200 pesos – 40 GB, 1,500 minutes and 1,000 SMS valid for 30 days. No hot spot.
300 pesos – 40 GB, 1,500 minutes and 1,000 SMS valid for 30 days. With hotspot.
Telcel, for example, has plans ranging from 229 to 499 Mexican pesoseach with their respective services, offering from 1.5 GB of navigation and up to 5 GB.
What has become clear is that the market is advancing and, as has always been the case, consumers are looking to pay less, but have a good service.
