If a couple of weeks ago we reviewed the release guide for PlayStation, Xbox, Switch and PC, today we have to close the circle by seeing in detail the latest collector editions of the quarter that we have left to end this 2021.
Unfortunately, the trend has not changed compared to the rest of the quarters: few luxurious editions compared to other years, where the amazing figure of 2,000 euros was reached in one of the games of the past 2020. Let’s see what awaits us.
Far Cry 6
The game in charge of breaking the ice is the recently released Far Cry 6, of which Ubisoft presented its collector’s edition well in advance and that stands out for that recreation of the flamethrower that we can use at the first exchange for the Yara region and that even Giancarlo Esposito tried in this video.
The curious? That this edition has not been sold out on all systems, as is usual with other reputable franchises. Although its prohibitive price also has something to do with it. That or that is sold in exclusive from Ubisoft Store. Aside from the flamethrower, which makes the edition more expensive, it includes:
- Assembly instruction sheet illustrated by artist Tobatron
- Exclusive collector’s box based on his unmistakable style
- Steelbook inspired by the cast of the game
- 64 page picture book
- Collection of 10 stickers illustrating the guerrilla movement
- A Chorizo keychain
- Soundtrack with various cuts of his music
- Yara World Map
- Season pass
- Ultimate Pack (Vice, Crocodile Hunter and Jungle Expedition)
- All for 199.99 euros (less on PlayStation, which is sold out)
The Dark Pictures Anthology: House of Ashes
Another game whose collector’s edition is exclusive to the official store of its publisher we have it in House of Ashes, the third story of The Dark Pictures Anthology. Although here you have to make a little “trap”. It’s actually about two separate editions (one, no game) strange not to see them in the same batch.
The edition with game, Bandai Namco Store exclusive, is the Pazuzu Edition and its price is timidly higher than the standard edition of the rest of the stores, which is set at 29.90 euros and will go on sale next October 22:
- House of Ashes boxed set and disc
- Pazuzu Edition Box
- Exclusive figure of a creature from the underworld (9 x 9 x 10 cm)
- Eclipse metal pin
- Exclusive foil
- Exclusive stickers
- Access to the Curator’s Cut
- All this for 59.99 euros (all versions sold out)
However, then there is an exclusive diorama for 119.99 euros with Rachel in the middle of a terrifying place. Despite having very limited units (only 200) not yet sold out. And its dimensions, on the other hand, double those of Pazuzu with 20 x 22 x 20 cm. It is made with resin and painted by hand, and it weighs 1 kg.
Beyond a Steel Sky
Returning to the usual collector’s edition type we stumble upon the next release of Beyond a Steel Sky, the sequel to the classic Beneath a Steel Sky by Revolution Software (Broken Sword), on all current consoles (PS5, Xbox Series, PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch) after passing through Apple Arcade and Steam.
Its launch will occur on November 30 with a standard edition (Book Edition) that will be around 50 euros and a more luxurious one that will go up to 150 euros under the name of Utopia Edition, standing out for that hologram lamp.
- Physical play
- Exclusive holographic lamp
- 5 Holo-Ad Cards
- Collector’s box
- Exclusive metal box with art by Dave Gibbons
- Enamel Pin
- Interchangeable keychain and necklace
- Stickers
- 50 page mini art book
- Original soundtrack in digital
- All for 149.99 euros on PS5, 149.99 euros on Xbox (Smart Delivery), 149.99 euros on PS4 and 149.95 euros for Nintendo Switch. Edited by Meridiem Games
Among us
Yes, the mediatic Among Us is going to come out in physical format. Moreover, it will do so in three editions, the most expensive of all of them being the so-called Ejected Edition and with a exclusive for Spain from the GAME store. It does not exceed 100 euros, but it must be remembered that the game itself does not even reach 5 euros. So yes, it is expensive.
Its departure is estimated for before the end of the year (its date on the web says that it will leave on December 31, 2021, but it is indicative) and includes all the following:
- The game on disc with all its DLC
- Exclusive content to download the physical version
- 3D lenticular box designed by Hannako Lambert from Dual Wield Studio
- Imposter Syndrome Stickers Designed by Alyssa Herman
- 1 of 12 specialty holographic access cards at Mira HQ
- Skeld Map Poster Designed by Cannon Kissane
- Code for 6 wallpapers designed by Amy Liu of Innersloth
- “Crewman vs. Imposter” Ribbon
- Purple Crewman Plush
- Enamel spinning pin “Spinning in space” designed by Cynthia Her
- Crewmembers’ fleece blanket
- Red Imposter Cap
- Limited Edition Ejected Box
- All for 92.95 euros on PS5, 92.95 euros on Xbox (Smart Delivery), 92.95 euros on PS4 and also another 92.95 euros in the case of Nintendo Switch
2021, a very restrained year with the editions
This year has been very weak in terms of collector’s editions and we just have to remember, as a sample, the two that took place in the third quarter. 2021 has not stood out for the collector’s eagerness if we stick to traditional stores, because if we extend the proposal to specialized websites in these topics, such as Limited Run Games or iam8bit, things change radically, like is logic.
Without going any further, the essential Disco Elysium will soon be released in physical format for consoles and its collector’s edition is exclusive to iam8bit, with a limited edition with a reserve price set at an inordinate 249.99 euros.
