Today we propose a list with the five most dog-friendly based on a study that Trabber, the travel website, showed a few years ago.
France
Only in Paris live around eight million dogs and more than 50% of the hotels in the French capital allow pets. In addition, there are many restaurants, cafes, squares and parks that offer specialized services for them. However, we have to pay attention to the Potentially Dangerous Animals law that establishes the country since if our dog is of a breed that appears in it, it is mandatory to walk them on a leash and muzzle.
In 2018 France became the country with the most dog-friendly with 53.05% of its establishments accepting pets.
Germany
Considered as a member of the family, dogs in Germany are welcome in many of its establishments. The country allows dogs to travel by bus, subway, train and tram. The condition is that they must be on a leash and with their corresponding muzzle -regardless of size or race-. In addition, 49.14% of its establishments accept pets.
Italy
If you are thinking of traveling to Italy with your pet, you are in luck: 46.53% of the hotels in this country accept dogs. There are even establishments that offer special services such as mattresses, bowls or even babysitting. This is the case of Hotel de Lën, in Cortina d’Ampezzo, located right next to the ski lifts and which has become a skier’s paradise.
Austria
In Austria, 44.23% of establishments are pet-friendlySo much so that they even have special bakeries for our pets. This is the case of Emily’s fine dog bakery, which has homemade cookies and snacks such as freshly prepared cupcakes or a special cake to celebrate birthdays in the best way.
Canada
Canada loves animals, so much so that 34.35% of hotels accept pets. So much so, that there is even a website that tells you the places and hotels where we can go with our pet. Plus, many of these places pride themselves on being able to offer a prime location that’s close to walking trails, green spaces, and sometimes even beaches or parks for off-leash dog walks.
