Android, the small number of manufacturers offering updates the long – term system puts Android devices at a disadvantage compared to the iPhone, which receives support and software updates for five years.
Now manufacturers like Samsung and Microsoft (which is about to launch its first Android phone) have started guaranteeing three generations of Android updates for their devices. In Samsung’s case, that includes all the Galaxy S, Galaxy Note and Galaxy Z phones released between 2019 and 2020, as well as some of the newer Galaxy A series phones and some of the newer Galaxy Tab series tablets.
Like the Google Pixels, these devices will receive at least three great new versions of Android, guaranteeing more than three years of updates. The Galaxy Note20 Ultra, which has left the factory with Android 10, will be able to be updated to Android 11, 12 and 13.
