Well, first things first. The warrior, as I teach in my courses, is an archetype and is used in mythology as a model to help us improve ourselves.
The warrior is a model of inner power. The path of the warrior is the path of action. And to be a warrior, he must not only take action, but he must take UNCONDITIONAL ACTION.
In other words, if you want to be successful, you’ll need to become someone who takes action, no matter what. You have to become a kind of person who does whatever it takes.
Think of a warrior in the midst of battle on the battlefield, which could be so easy in the business world when the going gets tough or awkward or doesn’t go your way.
He’s a warrior who’s going to say things like, “Oh I don’t know, it’s getting late, I’ve been fighting all day, I don’t feel like doing this or that…”.
What if they say that? Fire, they are dead. They can’t say that, they can’t afford that luxury.
And neither do you… IF you want to achieve high levels of success in the real world you have to do whatever it takes.
So, let me ask you a question, if you lived your life as if you were on the battlefield and you are fighting for your life right now, and every second is a life and death situation, and if you don’t succeed, you will die…… Would you be taking different actions than you are taking right now? Would you have a different attitude than you have right now?
Of course you would. Then you can say, “But Oscar, I’m not in that situation.”
Right, and that’s why you don’t take those actions. And because of that you are not as successful as you could be.
So you can say, “But Oscar, how am I supposed to maintain a balanced lifestyle if I’m always focused on being at work?”
My friend, it does not mean that you are not in balance if you are a warrior. When you play and when you do business, the quality of the warrior is 100% or 0%.
There is no black and white. It is life or death. You are 100% involved and giving 100% of yourself, or you are not a warrior. And when you are resting, you give yourself 100% to rest. And when you are playing, you give yourself 100% to play. And when you are with your family, you give 100% to your family.
Then you go back to your job or business, and you give 100% to that.
Now it is also essential that you understand that a person of the “willing to do whatever it takes” type always acts despite their mood. And this is something that I see that prevents some of my graduate students from becoming as successful people as they would like to be.
Those students can be observed saying things like…
- I have no desire.
- “I’m not sure how to do this.”
- “I fear that.”
- “I’m tired.”
- -What if I don’t like them?
- “What if I fail?”
At this moment, as I already mentioned, when the students know they are a warrior, they feel the fear, they feel the laziness but “They do it anyway”.
The key here is that when your mind is telling you something you can’t do, you can still act despite it telling you…
Remember, your mind is just an inner voice, it’s not even real, it exists only to protect you and keep you surviving, but not to make you successful.
And most people believe in their mind. They believe that their mind is them, giving them accurate information. But you don’t have to believe that voice in your head. That is a conditioned and learned response and that voice always keeps you in the “comfort zone” and the “comfort zone” is the graveyard of consciousness.
Therefore, you have to act despite the fear. Don’t try to get rid of fear because you can’t. The only time you ever get rid of your mind and your fear is when you die.
So what do you do when those thoughts drag you down and your mind starts drifting away from the action and your goals?
As I share this with my graduates, I teach them that they don’t have to believe that little voice and I teach them to repeat these three magic words: “Thank you for sharing”. And so, the little voice, it is heard and stops talking to you… I also report some other strategies and techniques to help calm the mind and live from its higher self.
The truth is that if you want to be successful, you can NOT listen to your own mind. You must feel the fear and act despite everything. Act despite fear. Act despite your mood. Act in spite of anything.
That is the true warrior, AND I AM SURE IT IS IN YOU.
So, if you are not 100% satisfied with your current income, if you are not 100% satisfied with your success and abundance in life, if you are very stressed, very over-the-top, if you are working very hard and not expanding constantly, if you’re not living to your full potential, if you’re not feeling fulfilled, maybe it’s time for new strategies and different ways of thinking.
