Hours before, the team had presented the official decoration for this new season, although on a model that did not correspond to the shapes of the real car that did hit the asphalt at Silverstone. The person in charge of piloting the car has been Nicholas Latifi.
Objective: return to the fight
Although in 2021 Williams managed to overtake Haas and Alfa Romeo in the general constructors’ classification, the truth is that it remained far from the fight for points under normal conditions.
The objective for 2022 will be to return to being one of the teams in the middle of the grid, in order to be able to be a candidate for points regularly. Of course, he will not be able to count on George Russell, the pilot who has best known how to squeeze the potential of the team in the last three years.
In his place will be Alexander Albon, who after a season and a half at Red Bull Racing as Max Verstappen’s teammate had to settle for the role of reserve driver in the Formula 1 and DTM official for the energy drink brand.
Now the Thai born in London returns to the premier class to try to settle in a category in which he already has 38 Grand Prix and in which he has risen to podium on two occasions, as he was third in the 2020 Bahrain and Mugello events.
