The pandemic caused by COVID19 caught us all by surprise (both health professionals and citizens who became infected by the virus and, therefore, patients). Coronavirus is a viral disease that can affect the lungs and respiratory tract and to alleviate the symptoms it presents, you can take a drug such as paracetamol.
In addition, some of the symptoms of COVID19 that occur, and which can be mild or severe, include the following:
- Fever over 100.4ºF (38ºC) or chills.
- Respiratory problems.
- Cough.
- Fatigue.
- Headache.
- Muscle or body pain.
- Throat pain.
- Loss of sense of taste or smell.
- Nausea and vomiting.
- Runny or stuffy nose.
- Diarrhea.
These symptoms begin to be noticed 2 to 14 days after being exposed to the virus and can last 1 to 3 weeks. In addition, there are people who get COVID19 and are asymptomatic, that is, they do not present any type of symptoms.
In addition, as for the little ones, among the 36 hospitalized children, 28% were asymptomatic (1) in the Dong China Center for Disease Control and Prevention (2) they reported more than 2,000 cases of COVID-19 disease in children over a period of one month, and 13% of confirmed cases were asymptomatic.
In a large series from Korea, only 75 of the more than 7,700 patients (1%) were under 9 years of age, and another 405 (5%) were between 10 and 19 years of age (3). Korea is a country noted for severe morbidity and mortality during the pandemic at the time of writing this report, likely due to intensive community testing and mitigation strategies. Few admissions or deaths among minors (< 19 years of age) were reported by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention among 4,226 patients with COVID-19 through March 16, 2020.
How to control the symptoms of COVID19?
When you get coronavirus you will have to stay home and these are some of the things you can do to monitor your symptoms (as long as you present them).
To control fever, for example, you must keep track of your body temperature. You should take your temperature 2 times a day (once in the morning and once at night).
As for your diet, you should eat light foods. That is, you can eat 6 small meals during the day, instead of 3 large ones, and this will help with nausea and loss of appetite. You should also drink 6 to 8 glasses of fluids each day as this can help you stay hydrated and loosen mucus in your nose and lungs.
Tempra Paracetamol (Acetaminophen) is a pain reliever and fever reducer. It is used to treat many conditions such as headaches, muscle aches, back pain, arthritis, colds, toothaches, and fever. As you can see, it is a medicine that can be used to alleviate some of the symptoms caused by COVID19.
You can take one or two tablets of this drug every 4 to 6 hours without exceeding 8 tablets per day, for a maximum period of five days.
Specifically, Tempra Paracetamol is a para-aminophenol derivative with analgesic, antipyretic and mild anti-inflammatory activity and is available in the form of tablets (to be taken orally) that are also compatible during pregnancy and lactation.
Paracetamol and vaccine against COVID19
Many people have wondered if it would be convenient to take paracetamol before getting vaccinated against COVID19. The truth is that the health authorities only recommend the intake of this drug in the event of being vaccinated with the AstraZeneca vaccine. In addition, it is recommended to use 1g Paracetamol every 6 hours during the first 24 hours after having been vaccinated.
