As the distribution of vaccines grows and new variants are known, vaccination intentions among the population grow.
By last April, this trend was already visible. From that moment, the intentions to adopt the vaccine registered an important growth.
The UK topped the list with an 80 to 90 percent growth in vaccination intentions by the population.
However, the countries with variations in this regard are the United States, jumping from less than 50 percent to more than 62 percent; Singapore which went from 44 percent to almost 80 percent and the United Arab Emirates with a jump from 61 percent to more than 82 percent.
These intentions were also visible in the Mexican market. In those months, the AMexican Association of Travel Agencies (AMAV) indicated that during the last two weeks of April, about 120 thousand packages were sold for Mexican consumers who are seeking to get vaccinated in the United States, each with a value of between 19 and 20 thousand pesos per person.
In this sense, the United States seems to be a fundamental player in meeting the growing demand.
The American Union has proven to be one of the countries with the largest availability of vaccines and although a significant part of its population is already vaccinated, the truth is that the resistance of a percentage of its population to receive immunization and in order To ensure that these drugs are not wasted, the government of that nation has decided to make large donations in this regard.
According to the graph of the day, Latin American countries have been some of the most benefited with this measure.
Colombia tops the list among the countries that have received the most vaccines thanks to donations from the United States with 6 million doses received.
The top 5 is complemented by Guatemala (4.5 million), Mexico (4.1 million), Argentina (3.5 million) and Brazil (3 million).
The graph highlights vaccines by brand, where shipments made by the United States have been, mainly, around the proposal of Moderna, Johnson & Johnson, Pfizer and Astra Zeneca, in that order.
Finally, it is fair to acknowledge that Mexico is the only country to which doses of Astra Zeneca have been shipped.
