The mission of The Suicide Squad is finally known, to liquidate the Starfish Project, of which we present the details of this dangerous mission
Although the advances of The Suicide Squad gave us a drop in information about the new mission of the team commanded by Amanda Waller, it was finally revealed what the new task of the villains was, to end the Starfish project.
Don’t Miss: Starro: The Menace on the Horizon from The Suicide Squad
One of the goals for which Amanda Waller formed Task Force X is to undertake missions in which the United States government cannot get involved. One of these is to eliminate the controversial Starfish project.
Waller explains to his recruits that they will be sent to Corto Maltese to destroy an old facility used by the Nazis to conduct experiments, known as Jotunheim.
After the war, this facility was used by the Corto Maltese government, run by the Herrera Family, to conduct a series of experiments. The United States government knew about these experiments, but did not publicly comment on them.
The hand of the United States
A coup, led by Silvio Luna and General Mateo Suárez, ended the Herrera family regime, which was assassinated, in a new problem for the United States.
The new Corto Maltese rulers are known to be against the United States. If the experiments in Jotunheim fall into the hands of Luna and Suarez, they could use the Starfish project as a weapon of world domination.
That is why The Suicide Squad must take action to end Jotunheim and the Starfish project, which hides something macabre, with which the rulers of Corto Maltese could start a new era of terror.
Starro: the center of the Starfish Project
But destroying the Jotunhein facility is not enough, as the team will have to take down an enemy that has been in captivity for three decades at the Corto Maltese facility, Starro.
American astronauts captured Starro, intending to use the alien as a powerful weapon, once the cold war ended. But these experiments could not be carried out in North American territory, since this would lead to a new war.
That is why in the 90s Corto Maltese became a center for research and experimentation on the scope that Starro could have. For this, Doctor Gaius Grieves, better known as the villain Thinkerer, was recruited.
To erase all traces of US involvement in this project, Waller instructs Peacemaker to end all record of this program. Something that is opposed by Rick Flag, who intends to bring the records and videos to the press.
Therefore Peacemaker only has in mind to fulfill his mission, which leads him to assassinate Rick Flag.
The Suicide Squad will star Margot Robbie, Viola Davis, Joel Kinnaman and Jai Courtney, reprising their roles as Harley Quinn, Amanda Waller, Captain Boomerang and Rick Flag respectively.
The cast of this film is complemented by Idris Elba, John Cena, David Dastmalchian, Nathan Fillion, Peter Capaldi, Alice Braga, Michael Rooker, Sean Gunn, Taika Waititi, Joaquín Cosio and Sylvester Stallone.
The Suicide Squad is already in theaters in Mexico and the world.
