The senator to the federal congress of Mexico Indira Kempis visited Miami to attend the Bitcoin Conference 2022, where she spoke with CriptoNoticias about the initiative that proposes to reform some laws to open space for the adoption of Bitcoin in Mexico.
From the main stage of the conference, the senator announced that she will propose to reform some of the laws on cryptocurrencies approved a few years ago in Mexico, to give Bitcoin greater permissiveness in Mexican territory.
“We announce that we are going to be in a process of updating our Fintech Law and our Monetary Law to open the discussion in our country and that Bitcoin is the door that opens a new future and new possibilities for Mexico,” he said during our interview.
El Salvador is for Kempis an example and inspiration. From his recent visit to this country he takes away witnessing how people use bitcoin to make transactions in their day to dayand how national adoption is being driven by its users.
Money is for people, it is not for governments, it is not for corporations. The new value of money has to be for the people, and this means that inclusion, justice and financial freedom have to be for all people. [Bitcoin] would open up this possibility of being able to close inequality gaps.
