Technology,At the service of plants? Communication with nature through sounds is a little explored field. Although there is information regarding the survival of plants through photosynthesis and its various types, it has not yet been possible to establish any type of “dialogue” with these, knowing how important they are within our ecosystem.
Nature science and technology are related to produce something unique. Argentine musician Rodrigo Tamar explains this conversation between plants and humans by pointing out that “Science has proven that plants have the ability to listen and communicate.”
How is the proccess?
Through electrodes, this has managed to transform into music. But what exactly is plant music? Through data biosonification, plants have the possibility to express themselves through music. Through two electrodes placed on the leaves of the plants, bioemissions can be obtained and these are converted into musical information.
And this is what will be seen at the Corona festival this weekend in Santiago de Chile. For its part, Cervecería AB InBev’s outstanding brand, Cerveza Corona, has always done a direct call to preserve nature and connect with it through various ways. Among them: technology
This year the Corona Sunsets Festival returns, an event that was on hiatus for 2 years as a result of the pandemic and will feature an unprecedented Natural Stage. This is based on the “Botánika” project by the Chilean Francisco Morel and the German Ben Reymann, who managed to integrate nature into communication by emitting sounds that come from electricity inside your system.
How to make music with plants?
”Plants need nutrients, water and CO2 to be able to exist. In the process of photosynthesis they release oxygen and carbohydrates, but what is not well known is that they also have electricity within their system through their biorhythm. Botánika uses these voltages to make music through synthesis modulars, which produce the various rhythms thanks to the digital instrument and transducers -that transform one energy into another”, assures Francisco Morel, Chilean creator of the project.
Thanks to the initiative, it is possible to generate sound and explore the language of nature, so it is known that plants react in real time to voices, lights and water. The benefits of sound allow you to connect with natureso Cerveza Corona wanted to have the exhibition as one of the pillars of the Festival.
“Natural Stage will allow you to listen to the music and sounds that come from your roots. It is something never seen before and that will mark a unique sensory moment“, he claimed Enrique ArteagaBrand Manager of Cerveza Corona in Chile.
a green adventure
In addition, the Natural Stage and the Festival will be made up of plants promoted by Plant Me, the first Chilean Garden Delivery that seeks to bring the best of nature and decoration to the different spaces of the city, with the aim of teaching us to take care of them and enjoy of the benefits of sharing and live in harmony with them in our day to day, being able to reconnect again with our natural essence. If you want to know more about them you can visit their website www.plantme.cl.
Corona Sunsets Festival will take place at Mirador Pangue, located in Hacienda Santa Martina on August 27, where it will be presented Natural Stage being the first stage of a tour that will take place in countries such as Rome, Portugal and Berlin.
In addition, there will be a presentation by the outstanding Chilean artist Francisca Valenzuela and other international DJ’S. You can access tickets through the Punto Ticket system and visit Cerveza Corona’s social networks for more information.
