IMCO analysis on Public Account 2022
This Monday, the Mexican Institute for Competitiveness (Imco) published an analysis of the 2022 Public Account issued by the Treasury. The agency pointed out that last year an expense of 7.5 trillion pesos was recorded, half a trillion more than what was approved in the Expenditure Budget.
The SAT receives less money than expected despite the annual declarations
In the first quarter of the year, a period that covers the months in which companies and individuals present their annual declaration, the SAT reported missing income compared to what was programmed by the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit and approved by the Congress of the Union.
Figures from the Mexican treasury detail that the total tax collection was 1,598 billion pesos; this meant 44,436 million pesos less than what was stipulated in the 2023 Economic Package, that is, it had a 2.7% decrease compared to what was programmed.
