On August 5 the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 will be presented. The company has several smartphones ready for this date, the most modest being the Galaxy Note 20. It seems that the company has slightly changed its strategy when it comes to talking about the most basic terminal in the Note series. The leaks leave us with a different design and approach. This doesn’t have to be bad, but the leaks are leaving us with a bittersweet taste of what the company could present. Today we tell you why we believe that the Galaxy Note 20 can be a disappointment.
Samsung must lower the price to make the Note 20 interesting
Competition in the high-end is the biggest concern that Samsung may have right now with the Galaxy Note 20. According to the leaks, this terminal will arrive with a 6.7-inch screen in FullHD + resolution and a refresh rate of 60 Hz. What is the problem? These features, except for the screen size, are not current premium high-end.
There are several devices considered high-end that have FullHD + screens and a refresh rate of 60 Hz, the problem is that they do not come close to 1,000 euros, rather than 500 euros. The price of the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 could throw all the changes that Samsung will make on this device. The most important begins by leaving aside the curved screen that has been used for years.
There is no longer an excuse to say that curved screens are more expensive because they are curved. The Galaxy Note 20 will arrive with a fairly normal panel, without boasting of any kind. This, added to the bad reputation of the Exynos processors in 2020, could make the Galaxy Note 20 not one of the most interesting terminals on the market. The icing on the cake will be the price of the terminal: we do not believe that Samsung intends to lower the price of the device considerably.
What would be a fair price for this Galaxy Note 20? It is very difficult to decide, especially when there are terminals on the market that for 500 euros offer incredible quality and premium high-end features. Our opinion is that the Galaxy Note 20 can be a disappointment due to its high price, since offering a screen and qualities that we are talking about with a low price is not crazy. Doing it with a high price of 800 or 900 euros/dollars could throw the flat screen overboard and save in other aspects.
What do you think Samsung should do? Would you buy the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 for 800 euros/dollars?
