Regarding its operating flow, Soriana resulted in an Ebitda of 2,906 million pesos, which is equivalent to a margin of 7.4%, a contraction of 30 base points and an increase of 0.9% compared to the first quarter of 2022.
Net profit, on the other hand, reached 1,070 million pesos, that is, 2.7% of sales and which represents an increase of 14.2% compared to the first three months of last year.
As of March 2023, the company has a bank and stock market debt of 12,714 million pesos, which indicates a decrease compared to the previous year of 2,603 million pesos. In net debt, the reduction was 24.7%.
Currently, the supermarket chain operates 370 stores in its Hiper format, 127 Super, 163 Mercado, 105 Express, 37 City Club and 12 Sodimac. During the quarter Soriana opened two Hiper stores.
On the other hand, the company received the certification of labor equality and non-discrimination granted by the National Institute for Women (Inmujeres), the Secretary of Labor and Social Welfare and the National Council to Prevent Discrimination (Conapred), as part of their actions to build a diverse, equitable and inclusive culture.
Likewise, it is the first retailer that achieves the certification of 100% of its work sites in Safe and Healthy Work Environment (ELSSA) granted by the Mexican Institute of Social Security, thanks to the creation of an organizational culture that benefits more than 87,000 people.
The company was also certified as a Top Employer company, being the only self-service to receive this certification in Mexico to date.
