The new Mercedes-AMG GT 2023 has been hunted again. The sports car of the star brand faces new tests under intense heat, tests in which the new model also takes the opportunity to measure its emission levels.
The new Euro 7 standard is causing a real headache for all brands, affecting all the new models that will hit the market and, especially, the sports ones. The new Mercedes-AMG GT 2023 is one of them, which our photographers have surprised with a couple of prototypes under the intense heat of summer.
The star brand knows that the AMG GT is quite a flagship, a successful model that has swept the first generation and that, despite being seen in the spy photos, more than camouflaged, aspires to be another benchmark. Slightly larger, its silhouette undergoes changes to offer a more elegant fastback, some master lines that we have already seen in the Concept Vision AMGand with a more modern style ahead and headlights that will have a certain influence of this conceptual preview.

This is the first time we can see one of the prototypes with the huge semi-open tailgate, as it is the only way that the testers have found to be able to anchor the portable measuring device for polluting gases «PEMS» which adds special exhaust pipes. The other prototype clearly shows its four square exhaust trimstypical of the sports brand.
Inside, the dashboard will be identical to that of the new AMG SL, digital but embedded in the dashboard and without an overhead visor, with a touch screen in the center console and transmission tunnel. The sports car will also have two rear seats, and an atmosphere as luxurious as it is focused on high performance. The new Mercedes-AMG GT Coupe will debut in late 2022, going on sale in late spring 2023practically a year after the convertible.
Based on the “MSA” platform for sports cars, it will have 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive, unprecedented in this model, and a 9-speed DCT automatic transmission associated with the six versions that will arrive: with four and six cylinders in line, a powerful V8 for the AMG SL 63 of these spy photos, and two PHEVs, one with the 2.0-liter turbo engine and one with the bigger blockboth with “AMG E Performance” plug-in hybrid technology, with up to 843 hp of maximum power.
