In 2021, we witness the clash of the titans: the pinnacle of a franchise that began to take shape eight years ago. But the Monsterverse stories are far from over. In March 2022, Warner Bros. Pictures confirmed their plans to start filming on a sequel, again with Adam Wingard in the directing chair. And now we have new details about Godzilla vs Kong 2 which will bear the official title Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire. With this, another unlikely alliance arises between our favorite colossi, in the face of a new threat.
what will it be about Godzilla vs Kong 2?
In the 2021 film, the gigantic primate and the king of kaijus they had to iron out rough edges and fight side by side due to the irruption of the ferocious Mechagodzilla. But, is there really a greater danger than that killing machine devised by fear and human ambition? We’ll find out in the future sequel to Godzilla x Kongwhose official synopsis dictates the following (via Collider):
“This latest entry continues the explosive fight of Godzilla vs. Kong with an all-new cinematic adventure, pitting the almighty Kong and the fearsome Godzilla against a colossal unknown threat that lurks within our world, challenging its very existence and ours. The epic new film will delve into the stories of these titans, their origins, and the mysteries of Skull Island and beyond, as they uncover the mythical battle that helped forge these extraordinary beings and bound them to humanity forever.”

In addition to the return of Adam Wingard as director, the sequel will once again feature Rebecca Hall (Ilene Andrews), Brian Tyree Henry (Bernie Hayes) and Kaylee Hottle (Jia) in the cast. On the other hand, the actors that will soon be added to the Monsterverse of Legendary Pictures include Dan Stevens, Rachel House, Alex Ferns and Fala Chen.
When it premieres?
Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire will arrive April 11, 2024 to theaters in Latin America.
