- The existence of a Multiverse is real and there is evidence about it according to UNAM.
- UNAM researcher Julieta Fierro gives us examples of this.
- For example, this idea that we are unique, that we are in the center of the Universe and that we are the best has changed after we studied the Milky Way.
In the recent movie Doctor Strange, “Dr. Strange in the multiverse of madness.” the story raises several universes in which the characters navigate. But how true is this? Well, beyond what we saw on the second tape, the existence of a multiverse if it is real and there is evidence in this regard, according to the researcher of the UNAM, Julieta Fierro.
“Astronomers think that the multiverse does exist and there is sufficient evidence of its existence,” Julieta Fierro Gossman, a researcher at the UNAM Institute of Astronomy, said in an interview.
How is this? Initially, The Greeks thought that the world ended in Asia and then in the Atlantic Ocean. However, they discovered that there were populations beyond that border.
Before we thought that the Earth was unique and was in the center of the Universe, that the Sun revolved around it and that everything existed within our planet, even hell itself.
And what happened? We discovered that there are other planets and that it is possible that some of them have life or that that life is extinctas happened on Mars, or perhaps there could be life on Jupiter or Saturn with their subterranean oceans.
Currently, thousands of extrasolar planets have been discoveredthat is, worlds that revolve around their star, and that also have water.
We are not alone…
This idea that we are unique, that we are in the center of the Universe and that we are the best has changed after we studied the Milky Way.
The galaxy we live in only has a hundred billion starsand we thought that this was the whole Universe, but some astronomers observed some distant pinwheels and discovered that they were other galaxies.
Even at the beginning of the last century there was a very important discussion between those who thought that the galaxies were other island-universes and those who thought that they were part of the same universe.
Nevertheless, later it was discovered how to measure the distances between stars that oscillate very fast and slow, those that are large and small.
So we knew that our galaxy it was one of many and that we could not see very far in the Universe. The light takes some time to arrive and the oldest we can see is the light that originated 380 thousand years after the big bang.
the big bang
From this release of energy our Universe originated, which at that time was opaque. In fact, nowadays we cannot see all objects moving away from the center of the galaxy.
That is, we can observe a “little bit” of the big bang, but not the rest. At that time, perhaps other galaxies and other objects were born that are receding from us at speeds greater than the speed of light.
And since we cannot see it, this could generate other infinite and free universes. The Big Bang Bit that we form is very small and we think that these other universes could be similar to ours.
At the moment in which our Universe was born, others could be formed and thus others very similar could exist.
Physics tries to explain this theory through quantum mechanics, which raises the probability of all possibilities, so the existence of the multiverse is possible.
Another theory that seeks to explain this phenomenon is the string theorywhich posits that all elementary particles (electron, neutron, proton) are released from the void to create other universes.
How many would it be? About a “1 with 500 zeros”, and all completely different. If we counted all the atoms in all the galaxies in the universe, there would be a “1 with 82 zeros”a number much smaller than the possibility of existing universes.
Can we travel to other universes?
But what if a universe had a little glitch when it formed and it’s not identical to ours? It would be made up of the famous antimatter, which is made up of antiparticles.
If there was the possibility of traveling to other universes, it could be through a wormhole. “We wouldn’t necessarily arrive on another planet or be greeted by aliens and be very happy, but it could be a sphere of vacuum and we would disintegrate immediately.”
If we tried to discover the existence of other universeswe could suppose that they are like great walls and if they collided with our universe they could deform it.
However, no evidence of its existence has been found, so for now we cannot travel to other universes. “We are certain that they exist because history has taught us that everything that we do not feel could be real.”
“If you plan to enter a wormhole and reach an extraordinary world, be very careful,” concluded the university academic.
