The prototypes of the Mercedes GLS Facelift are once again seen in a new test session. The star brand is rushing the still warm temperatures of southern Europe to the maximum to finish the adjustments of this luxury SUV that will release new features in 2023.
In whole or in part, Mercedes has set out to update its entire SUV range by 2023. Mercedes GLS Facelift has been hunted again in some tests that have already reached the final phase of the program designed for this luxurious model, and that will be presented before the end of the year.
The flagship of the range SUVs reappears in spy photos with minimal camouflage, revealing a new, sportier and sleeker radiator grille design that will present a sportier look. The front bumper has also been slightly retouched, especially the area of the cooling air intakes. Improvements that will also come to the headlights of the GLS, including sophisticated lighting technology “Digital Light”.

At the rear, the pilots will also present a new luminous graphic. This will be practically the only change in the design of the rear, as Mercedes considers that no further changes are necessary in the aesthetic plane given the great reception of this model, like the GLE, among customers, despite its high price.
The same strategy will be followed inside, where the dashboard will remain intact, only implementing a new multifunction steering wheel with touch buttons and a new version of the MBUX interface in the multimedia and navigation system. The equipment will be reorganized in packages and the offer of coatings and upholstery will be expanded, also including the luxurious Maybach GLS.
More efficient engines in the Mercedes GLS 2023
But where the Mercedes GLS will have important innovations is in the area of engines. All of its powerful diesel engines 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder will add MHEV technology 48 Volts, a system that is already on board the gasoline blocks, and with which fuel consumption will improve, despite having the extra help of 23 CV. The renewed GLS will be presented before the end of the year, and the first deliveries will start in early spring 2023.
