Christoph Schröder, head of the plant, has pointed out in connection with the joint production that “This allows us to build along the combination of engines that is really in demand and make the best possible use of our plant.” The new 7 Series is once again the technology banner in a scenario, that of luxury models, which seems to have no crisis and is increasingly commercially successful, so the standard regains its flagship status that it lost with the previous generation.
Proof of this is that the Series 7 is larger than its predecessor, more spacious and with a differentiated design from the rest of the models and that it only shares with other equally luxurious models, like the X7 and the XM, a very sporty SUV that will debut at the end of the year. The 7 Series also catches up with the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class, with a load of technology and customization options that go far beyond imagination.
The German firm will offer the 7 Series with a select range of gasoline, diesel and plug-in hybrid engines, the latter bringing out their sportier side thanks to the M package. The top-of-the-range version is that of the “M760e”, a 571 hp plug-in hybrid with “M Performance” genesand which will also have a completely electric alternative: that of the i7 M70 that will arrive next year with a maximum power of 600 hp.
