Kevin Feige spoke of a lesson he learned in casting Hugh Jackman as Wolverine for the X-Men movie in 2000.
In 2000 Marvel Entertainment and 20th Century Fox joined forces to bring to the big screen X-Men, a film in which Hugh Jackman played the role of Wolverine, and Kevin Feige was one of the producers.

The selection of Hugh Jackman was not well received at first, as loyal X-Men readers expected to see a 6-foot-tall man as Wolverine. tall, and not a 1.90 actor who is Jackman’s height.

Jackman carried the role of Wolverine since 2000 and his farewell as the Canadian mutant occurred in the 2017 film Logan, and despite requests from fans, Jackman himself declared his cycle as Wolverine closed.
“Let’s be clear. I realized, before filming Logan, that we had the idea. We knew what it was going to be, right? And I thought this was it… It helped to know that I was entering my final season, the one that I made the most of. And he is still a character that I have close to my heart. But I know that it’s over“.
Marvel Studios develops more than 30 projects, including the reboot of the X-Men in the cinema, which would take place after 2023, although at the moment the details of that event are unknown.
