the lincoln lawyer (Lincoln Lawyer) has become a small hit on Netflix with two seasons behind their backs. Created by David E. Kelley (doogie howser, ally mcbeal, boston legal, Big Little Lies) and based on the novels by Michael Connelly, this is a new adaptation after the film of the same name starring Matthew McConaughey, Marisa Tomei and Bryan Cranston. The work has that name since its protagonist, Mickey Haller (Manuel Garcia-Rulfo), works from his collection of Lincoln cars.
The first two seasons of the lincoln lawyer are based on the second (The verdict) and fourth book (the fifth witness) of the Mickey Haller series, which consists of —so far— seven novels. So Netflix still has a lot of material to adapt.
According to the end of the second season, the third season will most likely be based on the gods of guiltwhere he takes the case of Andre La Cosse, for the murder of an old acquaintance of the lawyer.
After the premiere of the second part of the second season, many wonder if Netflix has already renewed the series for a third. But no news yet. The first part of the second season managed to position itself at the top of the streaming platform ranking, but that is no guarantee.
Will we see Harry Bosch in the possible third season of ‘The Lincoln Lawyer’?
Isn’t Harry Bosch the main character of the series Bosch from Amazon Prime Video? Actually, yes, and it’s also based on the books by Michael Connelly. Many of his stories take place in the same universe and there are crossovers literary differences between both characters in their respective novels.
Bosch is Mickey Haller’s stepbrotherand appears for the first time in The verdict, the second novel of the Lincoln lawyer, a work on which they based themselves to make the first season of the series. Both face each other over the case of Hollywood producer Walter Elliot —although in the series the character changes his name to Trevor Elliot, and he is the founder of a successful video game company—, but much to their regret, they have to start working together.
Because the rights to Harry Bosch are held by Amazon, in the Netflix adaptation, Haller clashes with another detective named Raymond Griggs, played by Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine. This character had to be created specifically for the series, and thus overcome the absence of his half-brother.
In the gods of guiltnovel on which the possible third season of the lincoln lawyer —if we take into account the events of the last episode of the second season—Harry Bosch has a very small appearance. So we most likely will not see it in the Netflix adaptation.
Connelly explained in a June 2021 interview that Harry Bosch and none of the related characters would appear in the lincoln lawyermentioning the obvious conflicts when being on different platforms of streaming.
