From November 10 to 13, the LABITCONF event on cryptocurrencies and blockchain will be held in Buenos Aires, Argentina. This year will also have a football theme. This was reported by the organizers to Cointelegraph en Español through a statement.
This year, the “Latin American Bitcoin and Blockchain Conference”, crypto event in Latin America, celebrates its tenth anniversary in its place of origin, Buenos Aires, Argentina. This year’s conference, which will take place from November 10 to 13 and will be held at the “Salguero Coast Center”, CABA, a week before the soccer world championship in Qatar. In honor of this occasion, LABITCONF will embrace sport with a football theme (LABITCONF Mundialista Edition), taking advantage of the history and rich football culture of the country. The conference will host activities, events and provide content in harmony with football fans and a very active crypto ecosystem.
Rodolfo Andragnes, founder and CEO of LABITCONF, shared: “For the 10th anniversary of LABITCONF, we returned to Argentina not only because it is the place of origin of the organization, but also because it is the mecca of crypto development and adoption in Latin America. With the soccer world championship in Qatar taking place just a week after the conference, we wanted to put soccer in the spotlight to represent our mission and community united to improve the world through technology that provides efficiency, ownership and transparency“.
The conference aims to bring together more than 130 global industry leaders with more than 50 talks, panels, hackathons, workshops and games. In their statement they reported that: “Vitalik Buterin, founder of Ethereum and one of the most influential leaders in the cryptocurrency ecosystem today, Elizabeth Stark, founder of the Lighting network, and Samsom Mow, who led the efforts for El Salvador to adopt Bitcoin as its currency. legal course, will be among the speakers at this year’s conference”.
Andragnes stated: “LABITCONF is an exciting event for the Latin American crypto community, it will connect global players in the crypto space and offer a very special environment that combines technology, entertainment and local culture, creating an environment that builds lasting human and commercial bonds.“.
The event will take place in 4 pavilions that will have a main stage, workshops, an exhibition hall, NFT/Gaming/Metaverse art areas, soccer-themed tasks and other activities. As part of the conference, a soccer tournament was also held at the Costa Salguero fields in Buenos Aires on September 9, where 12 teams competed for the LABITCONF Cup, a special trophy created for the occasion, and more than $5,000 in awards. The final match will be played during the event.
A hackathon will also be held a few weeks before the event in which programmers will be able to compete for scholarships and prizes. After the main conference, the organization will prepare a “Crypto Tour” through Patagonia, which will include a micro-conference in San Martín de los Andes on November 15.
Each year, LABITCONF organizers aim to give back in a meaningful way to the host country where the event takes place, through fundraisers or auctions. Details will be announced later when the event is about to start.
