Santa Maria
On this ship, there were about 25 crew members on board. Its owner was Juan de la Cosa, a Cantabrian navigator who participated in several voyages to America. This ship is where Columbus traveled.
It was shipwrecked in Santo Domingo shortly after arriving and its remains were reused to build Fort Navidad, the first Spanish settlement in America.
The girl
The caravel Niña was built between 1488 and 1490 by the shipowner Juan Niño, from whom it got its name. It had a crew of about 20 people with one of the Pinzón Brothers (Vicente Pinzón) in command.
In subsequent years, it became property of the Spanish crown, entrusting the governance of the Niña to Alonso Medel, who made several commercial voyages with the caravel. During one of these expeditions it was captured by French privateer ships, some of whose crew, natives of El Puerto de Santa María, were bribed with 30 ducats by Medel, and helped the Spanish escape from the privateers.
The last journey of the Little girl It was an expedition to Hispaniola, after the ship was repaired and caulked in Palos.

This caravel has an unknown origin. It had a crew of about 25 people. It was captained by another of the Pinzón brothers (Martín Alonso).
It was from this crew that it was exclaimed: “Land in sight”, by the sailor Rodrigo de Triana .
