The global race for the development of artificial intelligence (AI) has added new players in recent days, with Twitter and Alibaba integrating the technology into their businesses. The Chinese giant is working on its own chatbot assistant, while the social media platform is apparently leveraging AI to “detect and highlight public opinion manipulation.” It should be remembered that Elon Musk, CEO of Twitter, recently led an open letter in which he called for the development of advanced AI to be halted due to societal concerns. As the proverb says, “if you can’t beat the enemy, join him.”
As the AI landscape takes shape, cryptocurrency exchange Gemini has secured a $100 million personal loan from its founders, Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss. The financing comes after alleged attempts to attract external capital failed.
This week’s edition of Crypto Biz looks at competition in the AI market around the world, the Winklevoss loan to Gemini, and MetaMask’s decision to allow cryptocurrency purchases.
Winklevoss twins grant Gemini a $100 million personal loan
Gemini cryptocurrency exchange co-founders Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss have reached into their own pockets to finance their venture amid the cryptocurrency market crash with a $100 million loan. The liquidity injection follows previous attempts to obtain capital from external investors. The Winklevoss brothers are financing Gemini amid regulatory scrutiny in the United States. In January, the US Securities and Exchange Commission charged Gemini with offering unregistered securities through its Earn program.
Elon Musk reportedly bought thousands of graphics cards for Twitter’s artificial intelligence project
Tech billionaire Elon Musk appears to be making progress on his plans to develop Twitter’s artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure. According to anonymous sources familiar with the company, the CEO of Twitter recently purchased nearly 10,000 graphics processing units (GPUs) for use on the platform. GPUs typically work on large-scale AI models due to the enormous computational power the technology requires. The alleged purchase comes just days after Musk headlined an open letter calling for AI development to be halted due to societal concerns.
In the months ahead, we will use AI to detect & highlight manipulation of public opinion on this platform.
Let’s see what the psy ops cat drags in…

Tech giant Alibaba will launch an AI to compete with ChatGPT
Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba is joining the global artificial intelligence (AI) race with its own version of a chatbot-like assistant. Alibaba announced the launch of a product similar to ChatGPT in the “near future”. The new product will be called Tongyi Qianwen, which translates into English as “seeking an answer by asking a thousand questions.” The chatbot will first be available in English and Mandarin. It will also integrate into Alibaba’s broad ecosystem of technology companies, including workplace messaging app DingTalk and voice assistant smart speaker Tmall Genie.
