The Mexican film, theater and television actor, Ignacio Lopez Tarsodied this Saturday afternoon at the age of 98 in a hospital in Mexico City, family and media reported.
The National Association of Interpreters of Mexico (ANDIMEXICO) confirmed the news in a Twitter message.
“Actor with a vast career in theater, film, television and politics. He was president of our association, ”Andimexico said in a tweet.
“Dear Ignacio López Tarso, you were one of the most important actors in our country, your great talent and passion during your 7-decade career leave an indelible mark on the performing arts, film, and television in Mexico. Rest in peace dear teacher”, said the Secretary of Culture of Mexico, Alejandra Frausto.
The prolific actor participated in several films from the golden age of Mexican cinema. One of the most remembered of him was his first starring role with “Macario”, from 1960, directed by Roberto Gavaldón, in which he forms a strange friendship with death itself.
