The creator of The Last of Us, Craig Mazin took to the internet to send an emotional message of thanks to all viewers. Since its premiere last Sunday, January 15 at night, the only thing that has been talked about on the networks has been the arrival of the series. The comments are mostly positive and the fans are very happy with the result shown in just one episode.
Mazin confessed that he made a pact with actress Bella Ramsay to try to stay away from comments on networks. However, the reception has been so overwhelming so far, that both allowed themselves to violate their own rule even for this one occasion.
At the same time, he stated that the series only gets better as it progresses. Which is why he is very excited about what the public is about to experience. The full message from him, shared via Reddit, is as follows:
THANK YOU for all the wonderful reactions and passion you have shown for the series. Honestly, we’re all freaking out here, and I’m especially happy because I think the show just gets better and better as it goes on…so THANK YOU ALL.
Bella and I promised each other that we would stay off social media, because we have a tendency to pay too much attention to negative voices, but there’s so much positivity out there right now, that she gave me one-time permission to do this. 😉
On behalf of myself, Neil, Pedro, Bella, and everyone who has worked so hard for so long on this show, I thank you again for watching, and I hope you’ll stick around. with us throughout the rest of the series.”
The Last of Us received positive comments from before its premiere. This thanks to the reviews from specialized critics, who stated that we were perhaps facing the best adaptation, for film or television, of a video game. Almost as a rule, video game adaptations never go well, but this time it seems that the story will be different.
The TV show will tell the story of Joel and Ellie, as they traverse a United States post pandemic and apocalyptic. A territory dominated by those infected with a virus generated by fungi that controls its hosts to turn them into murderous and violent monsters.
Starring Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey; and co-produced by Craig Mazin (Chernobyl) in the company of Neil Druckmann, who developed the original game. With said combo, fans should probably breathe easy. The Last of Us will premiere the rest of its episodes every Sunday on HBO and HBO Max.
