Let’s leave an epic legacy to future generations, values don’t go out of style, let’s leave positive evidence of our passage through this world. Being more productive requires concentration, but many times we fill our cell phones with a variety of applications and information that distract us, at the same time, we have various devices that rob us of mental energy, we cannot attend to various issues that are not really a priority .
We must put emphasis on our mental and physical health and think about what issues if they add value to us.
It is very sad to see people who insist on believing fiction, let’s promote a better society, I share some tips to avoid digital intoxication:
- Block entertainment apps during business hours
- Manage your time
- Find out by official means
- Let’s be constructive critics
What are the consequences of digital infoxication?
Consumption becomes ephemeral, some call it immediate consumption, of course without validating information through official means.
In most cases, news is not checked before sharing, this seriously affects us,
- workshop blindness
- sleep disorder
- behavioral changes
- poor productivity
- Social isolation
- Loss of attention and concentration
- FOMO
- Work stress
Although digital natives are used to multitasking, it is not the same for all generations.
Let’s also take into account that the instructions that are not clarified or supervised, can have different interpretations.
Many people fall into severe stress due to the fear of missing out on something while they are offline, they suffer from FOMO (Fear of missing out).
Digital addiction also has its disadvantages, which is why we must establish rules in companies and thus avoid digital fatigue among employees.
In companies, various applications are installed to monitor the productivity of employees, but personal devices do not always have restrictions on the use of the Internet, generating distractions.
Hyperconnectivity makes life easier in many aspects and let’s face it, it has great benefits, although excesses also overwhelm us and that happens when you reduce your health by being digitally available all the time. It seems that with greater advancement in technology, the more we enslave ourselves to digital devices, a clear example of this is the anxiety we feel when we want immediate results when searching for something on the internet.
Companies must generate digital disconnection protocols, promote productivity and reinforce Remote Leadership to promote business continuity.
Digital addiction and hyperconnection distract us from taking care of our health and enjoying life. It has become a serious mistake not to respond to being connected or responding outside of business hours, there are people who are afraid of losing their jobs.
We must implement measures to establish technological rest and digital disconnection, as part of our Culture
employment in the New Normal.
I invite you to do a “technological fast” or “technological detox”, enjoy life, moments with family, with friends. It’s really awkward trying to have free time while other people are still busy on their devices. There are parents who buy various toys for their children and do not use them because they do not have time to play with them, but since they require attention, they prefer to give them the cell phone to entertain themselves.
We urgently require a digital disconnection, because addiction to technology distracts us from true happiness.
