The Nintendo Switch was the portable console par excellence in recent years, until Valve’s Steam Deck arrived, adapting the curious body of the Japanese console to a fully desktop system. Now, the Ayaneo 2S is shaping up to be an excellent contender to become the next benchmark for portable gameplayfollowing in the footsteps of the models that preceded it but aiming much higher.
This new Ayaneo 2S is presented a few hours ago, and confirms some of its most important technical specifications. It is presumed that the new portable console would have an AMD processor identical to the one already found in a similar device, the ASUS ROG Ally, and which we already faced with the Steam Deck. In that case, we would see it arrive with a Ryzen 7 7840U. To keep its powerful components cool, the Ayaneo 2S also includes a three-tube cooler and other design enhancements that help prevent dangerous overheating.
Said change of processor and GPU could also bring improvements in the battery of the Ayaneo 2S. The current model is known for having a pretty mediocre lifespan. However, power efficiency improvement in the Ryzen 7 7840U could deliver longer battery life and a lower amount of overheating under certain conditions.
Regarding its aesthetic section, this Ayaneo 2S is identical to the Ayaneo 2, launched at the beginning of this 2023. However, in terms of performance improvements we will see a significant leap thanks to the inclusion of a Radeon 780M GPU, capable of running more powerful games compared to the Radeon 6800 of the current model.
The Ayaneo 2S could become the next reference of the gaming laptop
In addition to a renewal of its internal components, the Ayaneo 2S also faces a change in its screen, buttons, and sensors. For example, thanks to the new panel, the console is capable of displaying a greater number of colors in your favorite video games. Additionally, the triggers have been retuned to be smoother and the console body is easier to disassemble, which should improve repairability.
