One of the most important models of the Spanish sports firm, the CUPRA Formentor debuts sophisticated equipment. The sporty SUV, available in gasoline, diesel and plug-in hybrid, is the first model of the brand to have Matrix-LED headlights, a lighting technology that will be added to the sportier Leons in the 2023 models.
The CUPRA Formentor has exploded in terms of sales. The sports SUV of the Spanish brand is filling the streets of the main European markets, after a long period in standstill and adding units to the order books due to lack of components. The Spanish firm has also advanced its strategy of new models for the coming years, completing an attractive offer.
Now, the brand is already preparing a year 2023 in which the novelties will not be more important than new equipment. The CUPRA Formentor is the first of the range that will offer its customers the option of new Matrix-LED headlightsa sophisticated lighting technology that debuts on board the crossover and is also extended to the CUPRA Leon and Leon Sportstourer, in the model year 2023.
The CUPRA Formentor increases road safety
These new headlights outperform LEDssince the light-emitting diodes are presented in an arrangement of several lines of pixels that allow split the light distribution selectively, turning segments on or off depending on the circumstances of traffic or the weather. In addition, together with the automatic light assistant, which switches between low and high, the latter can stay on continuously without dazzling users traveling in the opposite direction.
This function is possible thanks to a front camera, which is responsible for detect the presence of other vehicles, objects and people that are on the hard shoulder or occupying the road itself, automatically adapting the distribution of the light beams. A system that not only has the main functions of lighting, but also adds those of all weather, highway light and cornering lighting.
Though Matrix LED headlights are an option, for the most demanding customers, another linked option is also offered, that of the “Leaving Home” and “Coming Home” functions. In the latter, the owner can assign how long you want this lighting to stay on after the doors are locked, always offering a shine as powerful as glass. An interesting novelty that is already offered in Germany, and that very soon it will also be available in Spain.
